Cool Desert Nights is 5 days away which means it's time to put the body on the rolling chassis. Dennis K. and Ty T. came by to help with the assembly.
A body harness and an electric winch were used to lift the body.
Touchdown! Everything lined up perfectly.
This is the first time the air cleaner has been installed and it
looks great.

Looks good seeing the body reunited with the chassis, can't wait to hear that fuelie fired up!!
ReplyDeleteAshur,
ReplyDeleteSounds like an excellent plan. I emailed you this morning with contact information. I look forward to hearing from you.
Brian,
ReplyDeleteMe too! Efforts to start the motor should occur sometime this summer. Stay tuned.
Uncle John,
ReplyDeleteMy friend worked at a Vette restoration shop where he lives in IL and he told me that if you were interested in it, he could possibly hook you up with a 1963 fueley Vette VIN for your car.
If this interests you, let me know and I'll see what information I can find out further.
James,
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking about matching the VIN to the fuelie but I'll have to pass.
Since the beginning of this build we have maintained this would be a period correct Corvette. This basically means all the components, including the fuelie, are exactly as you could have found on a new 1963 Corvette, but we can't say this car is exactly as it was when new (numbers matching). Although the fuelie is not the exact motor, no one can say our car didn't come with a fuelie, and I am OK with that. A matching VIN is not required.
Keep watching the blog. We intend to start it up this summer.
Uncle John
