Purchased in Hawaii in 2009, our split window coupe has a 327 fuel injected engine and the very rare Heater Delete option. Our Corvette was restored over a 4 year period using original 1963 components. Modifications were limited to those popular in the late 1960's. Our vision... Period Correct/Era Modified.

Tail Light Puzzle
The factory issued 63 Corvette had 2 tail lights on each side. As you can see this car has 3. Some believe the third tail light was a dealer installed option.
I have no idea about tail lights, but just wanted to say, "WOW! You do have a project on your hands!" LOL! You'll have it finished by the time we visit, right? We'll want to take that baby out for a spin. :)
The additional tail lights were owner installed and seems like everyone was doing it back in the day (ELA, Ca). I came home from the US Army in Jan 1965 and found my neighbor driving a new '65 L-84 in Bamboo Creme and black interior; very rare as FI was dropped around that time with the introduction of the 396 BBC. The owner bought a pair of tail lamps for the 3+3 setup and asked me to saw the holes so took time out from my Deuce Roadster and did the job. I did like the looks of 3+3.
I have to admit I like the triple tail lights better than the doubles. That said, we wanted to stay mostly stock on the bodywork so we filled them in. Thanks for the information. John
